Tallinn, March 12, 2010 — NASDAQ OMX Nordic, part of The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:NDAQ), today announced that it has acquired the outstanding 6,97 percent minority stake in NASDAQ OMX Tallinn from Gild Holdings AS. This marks the final step in the previously announced intention to acquire full ownership in the Tallinn exchange.
“In November 2009, NASDAQ OMX initiated a process to fully integrate the Baltic exchanges into the Group. I am pleased that we have now concluded the process in Tallinn, thereby showing our commitment to this region and to developing the Baltic capital markets. We continue to execute our strategy to acquire full ownership in all the three Baltic exchanges”, commented Henrik Elfving, Vice President of NASDAQ OMX.
Following this transaction, NASDAQ OMX Nordic owns 100 percent of the shares in NASDAQ OMX Tallinn, 92,98 percent of the shares in NASDAQ OMX Riga and 95,12 percent of the shares in NASDAQ OMX Vilnius.
