Riga market to remain closed on November 13, 2004

09.11.2004 RIG

Riga Stock Exchange Management Board resolved on its meeting of November 8, 2004 that there will be no trading on the Riga Stock Exchange on Saturday, November 13, 2004, despite the fact that in Latvia this day is an official business day for the public sector. Stock exchange automated trades executed on November 10 will be settled on November 15.
It was also resolved that a stock exchange day – i.e. the day when the market is open – may be any business day except for those shifted to a Saturday or a Sunday by Cabinet resolutions. The RSE decision is based on OMX policies not to have any trading on Saturdays and Sundays. The same is true about settlement.
November 18 and 19 are public holidays in Latvia, when Riga market will be closed.
