EESTI ÜHISPANK IN AUGUST, 1999

As at August 31, 1999, the balance sheet of Eesti Ühispank amounted
to EEK 14.4 Billion, having increased by EEK 71 Million (0.5%) during
the month. The bank earned EEK 9.6 Million of profit in August, the
total amount of profit earned during the year thus being EEK 64.4
Million

The amount of client deposits has increased by EEK 0.6 Billion, 7.4%,
over the last year, reaching EEK 8.5 Billion at the end of August.
Among the deposits, a constant trend towards increasing demand
deposits and decreasing term deposits can again be witnessed: in
August, the amount of demand deposits increased by 3.9% and the
amount of term deposits decreased by 4.1%.

Cash and deposits at other banks have increased by 8.0%, i.e. by EEK
229 Million among the bank's assets over the past month. The loand
portfolio has decreased due to the decrease in overdraft facilities
which correspond to the growth of client demand deposit amounts. The
net loan portfolio accounts for 51.7% of total assets. The total
gross loan portfolio amounted to EEK 7.657 Billion at the end of
August. The loan provisioning level was 3%.

In the income structure of the bank, interest income accounts for
59.4%, fee income for 19.5%, financial income for 16.1% and other
income for 5.0% of total income.

The capital adequacy ratio of the bank stood at 13.5%.
