ANNOUNCEMENT



TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACT APPROVED



Hereby Estonian Telecom declares that the Estonian Parliament 

approved the Telecommunications Act in Estonia on 

February 9, 2000.



Estonian Telecom considers it as a positive sign that 

finally a long time discussed law has been passed and 

believes that it shall provide clear framework for the 

telecommunications sector development that will guarantee 

ongoing growth of the sector in the future.  



As the approved Act is voluminous and needs further analyses, 

Estonian Telecom will take some time to value the impact of 

the Act and compare it with the corresponding principles of 

the European Union before we can disclose detailed valuation 

to the Act.



Estonian Telecom will give its comments about the new 

Telecommunications Act latest by the end of February.
