II REVIEW OF OPERATIONS

1. Credit institution’s group

The list of companies belonging to Hansapank group is given

in the Table: Credit institution’s Group.



2. Significant events

This is a list of more important events in the fourth

quarter of 1999:

  ·    In September Hansapank sold its holding in the

     associate AS Hansa Investments.

·    In December Hansapank signed a letter of intent with

the Latvian commercial bank Ventspils UBB for its purchase.

·    In December Swedbank increased its holding in Hansapank

by 2.66% to 52.64%.

During the last two years the following changes have taken

place regarding Hansapank’s ratings:

23.07.98 the long-term rating was downgraded from Baa2 to

Baa3

24.08.99 the long-term rating was upgraded from Baa3 to

Baa2.
