ANNOUNCEMENT

NEW OPTION PROGRAMME

The proposal made by Hansabank’s council to the annual general meeting
to authorise the council to issue up to 1,560,000 shares includes the
existing option programme for 267,000 shares as well as a new option
programme for up to 1,300,000 shares. The existing options mature on
February 1, 2001.

The conditions of the new option programme are the following:
Number of options issued: Up to 1,300,000 shares, consisting of two
equal tranches. The options of Tranche A are exercisable during April
2-17, 2001 and the options of Tranche B are exercisable during April 2-
17, 2002.
Persons entitled to the options: top managmenet and key executives
(approximately 65 persons).
Maximum amount of options issued to one person: top management – up to
40,000 shares; other key personnel – up to 10,000 shares.

The precondition of the new option programme is the approval of
relevant decisions by the annual general meeting and the council.
