AMENDMENT ACT TO TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACT



On 13.02.2001 Estonian Parliament adopted the Amendment Act to the 

Telecommunications Act to stipulate the fees for interconnection 

services. The President of the Estonian Republic has not yet decided 

on promulgation of this amendment act.



After the aforementioned amendment act becomes effective, Eesti 

Telekom’s subsidiary AS Eesti Telefon must provide the 

interconnection service at lower price than the provision of this 

service costs to the company.



AS Eesti Telekom estimates that the amendments to the 

Telecommunications Act will reduce the turnover of the whole 

telecommunications sector by approximately 2%.
