AS EESTI TELEFON ENDS COURT ACTION



AS Eesti Telefon Ends Court Action Against Communications Board 



AS Eesti Telefon, a fully owned subsidiary of AS Eesti Telekom, 

ends a court action concerning a precept issued by the 

Communications Board. According to the precept, Eesti Telefon 

was required to apply interconnection rates below cost. 



On 18 April 2001, the Communications Board issued a precept to 

Eesti Telefon, which required Eesti Telefon to provide 

interconnection service below the costs of the service. 



Eesti Telefon plans to end the action about lawfulness of the 

precept and conformity of the underlying provisions of the 

Telecommunications Act to the Constitution, because the court 

action has lost its meaning for Eesti Telefon. Namely, these 

provisions of the Telecommunications Act expired on 

31 December 2001. Thus, the cause of action was revoked. 

Termination of the court action will have no impact on the 

expected economic results of AS Eesti Telefon for 2002.
