LATVIAN'S DECISION TO IMPOSE IMPORT TARIFFS



On June 5th the Latvian Parliament approved a bill by which import 

tariffs on pork would be introduced. 

Due to large volumes of pork sold by Rakvere Meat Factory on the 

Latvian market this decision may have a certain effect on the business 

results of the company. Rakvere Meat Factory anticipated the possible 

introduction of protective measure by the Republic of Latvia and has 

therefore prepared alternative action plans to minimise the impact. 

When the alternative plans will be introduced remains to be decided.
