06.01.2004, Hansapank, TLN

Hansapank NEWS RELEASE 01/06/2004

CHANGE IN THE BOARD OF HANSABANKAS

Darius Nedzinskas, Chairman of the Board of Lithuanian Hansabankas and
member of the Board of Hansabank, submitted his letter of resignation
in relation to a job offer made by the Western distribution network of
the Lithuanian energy grid. Darius Nedzinskas will leave the bank from
1 February 2004. According to the Chairman of the Board, Indrek
Neivelt, the goal is to appoint the new head of the bank from within
the company by the end of January.

The Chairman of the Council of Hansabank and Senior Advisor to the
Chairman of the Council of Swedbank, Anders Sahlén, believes that
Hansabank Group is the best employer with the best management culture
in the Baltic countries and our people are well demanded on the labour
market. "Hansabankas is no exception in this. The bank has developed
rapidly, is profitable and well positioned on the market."

Indrek Neivelt said that it was unfortunate that Darius Nedzinskas
decided to leave the company, but we understand that it was difficult
for him to refuse the offer he received. According to Indrek Neivelt
there are plenty of challenges for Hansabankas in the years to come.
"We will continue to implement our strategy - to develop from the
largest retail bank to the leading universal bank in Lithuania."
