Eesti Post NEWS RELEASE 02/04/2004
MANAGEMENT BOARD EXTENDED BY ONE MEMBER
The supervisory board of AS Eesti Post elected Jaan Tuul, the former
managing director of the Tallinn Main Post Office, as the fourth management
board member of the company to take office on 1 February. Tuul will also
head the office management service which supervises the activities of the
managing directions of all the main post offices.
"Tuul was one of the 56 participants in the public competition for the
managing director of Eesti Post, held last autumn. He was one of the
strongest candidates in the second round of the competition," said Jüri
Ehasalu, chairman of the supervisory board of Eesti Post. "We therefore had
no need to hold a new public competition."
Tuul has worked in the Tallinn Main Post Office since 1975, including nearly
20 years as its head. "As Tuul will essentially continue the same work in
his new post, we based our selection on his thorough knowledge of the area,"
Ehasalu added.
Jaan Tuul was born in 1946 in Tartu county. He graduated from the Tallinn
Polytechnical Institute as a radio mechanic in 1965 and the Leningrad
Communications Institute as an engineer and economist in 1983. He is married
and the father of two.
From 1 February, the Tallinn Main Post Office will be headed by Jaan
Vainult, the former managing director of the Kuressaare Main Post Office.
