Today,  on  5  August,  the  Council  of  the subsidiary company of JSC

Ventspils  nafta  -  JSC  Preses  nams  -  approved  Uldis Ronis as the

company's  new  Chairman  of  the  Board,  who  recently  worked as the

Director  for  development in JSC Hansas maiznīca . The new Chairman of

the Board U.Ronis will take his office on 6 August this year.

The  change  of  the Chairman of the Board is connected with structural

alternations  in  the  company,  looking  towards  achievement  of  new

strategic  goals.  Under  the  leadership of the former Chairman of the

Board of JSC Preses nams Andris Puzo the company has managed to achieve

stable  positions,  becoming  the leader in the printing and publishing

market  in  the  Baltic  states and operating financially successfully,

ending the year 2003 with the profit of 0.7 million lats.

The  new  strategic  tasks  of  JSC  Preses  nams  are directed towards

strengthening  of  the  achieved  market position, ensuring a long-term

development  and  improving  financial  results, that is why it is very

important  to  have  in  the  company's management the specialists with

marketing and company development planning knowledge.

U.Ronis has completed the professional business management programme at

the  York  University  in  Ontario  in Canada and has been additionally

engaged  in  the  courses  related  to  management economics, strategic

marketing  and trade development. The previous office duties of U.Ronis

were  planning  of  the  company's  business  strategy,  running of the

strategic  projects and coordinating in the affiliated companies in the

Baltic  states,  as  well  as  the  managing  of  investments, products

development and purchasing of JSC Hansas maiznīca.
