JSC  "Rīgas  Transporta  flote"  has  sold  the reefer "Baltijas ceļš"

(built  in  1988, cargo room capacity 470 609 cubic feet). The decision

was  taken  considering  the situation in global markets and the demand

and  supply  structure  in  the  reefer  cargo business. The vessel was

designed exclusively for carrying deep-frozen meat and fish.

As a replacement to the sold vessel, 2 other reefers were bought: "Frio

Pacific"  (Japan,  1984,  cargo  room  capacity 311 609 cubic feet, and

"Frio  Caribic"  (Japan, 1983, cargo room capacity 264 967 cubic feet).

These  two reefers are more universal and are accommodated for carrying

various  types of food, fruit and vegetables, as well as meat and fish.

This  will  allow  the  vessels  to remain competitive in international

markets.

Presently JSC "Rīgas Transporta flote" has 14 reefers with unrestricted

navigation area.
