The bank management has raised the profit forecast for 2002 to LVL 1.5 million

With the account of the rapid growth rate of JSC "Pirmā banka", the
bank management has raised the profit forecast for 2002 to LVL 1.5
million, which is nearly 60% over the forecast at the beginning of the
year. Operational revenues have increased due to increase in business
done; also, securities business has generated considerable extra
revenues. The profit (after the required general provisions) has
reached LVL 1,133,500 in the first seven months of the year.
In the first eight months of the year the deposits have increased by
51% and amount to LVL 58 million, while the loan portfolio has
increased by 56% - to LVL 75.8 million. "Pirmā banka" assets are LVL
119 million.
Simultaneously, the Bank is modernising and upgrading its branch and
settlement office network. Two new branch offices were opened in August
and September; a centre for mortgage lending will be opened on October
10.
