In   the  first  nine  months  of  2001  Insurance  Group  "Balta"  has

consolidated  its  leader  positions  both  in  risk and life insurance

markets,  with  respective  market  shares  of  22%  and  29%.  In risk

insurance business "Balta" has underwritten LVL

15,155,175  in premiums, which is LVL 663,730 more than during the same

period   in   the  previous  year;  LVL  6,788,449  were  paid  out  in

compensations.  In  life  insurance  business "Balta" has collected LVL

870,235  in  premiums.  Despite the decline in life insurance market by

9%,  "Balta"  has  increased  the amount of premiums by 6%; LVL 468,154

were paid out in compensations.

In  the  first nine months of the year "Balta" has earned LVL 1,032,697

from investments.
