PreussenElektra  that  owns 17.06% of JSC "Latvijas Gaze" has announced

merger  with  company  Bayernwerk.  As a result of merger of two German

companies  new  company  - JSC E.ON Energie was registered. New company

E.ON  Energie assumes all liabilities and is the new owner of 17.06% of

JSC "Latvijas Gazes" share capital.

E.ON  Energie  AG  was  registered  in  Germany  on  July  13, 2000. In

September all E.ON Energie daughter companies will begin work under new

name.

As  of  today  work  on JSC "Latvijas Gaze" Management Board will begin

representative  of  German  company Ruhrgas - Frank Ziberts. He will be

the  Deputy of Chairman of Management Board. He will be responsible for

development of Marketing and IT Departments.

Frank  Ziberts replaces Bertolds Martins Fliks former representative of

Ruhrgas.

Present  composition of Management Board was approved on June 30, 2000.

Decision  became  effective  on  August  15,  2000.  Other  changes  on

Management Board will not be made.

Chairman of Management Board remains Adrians Davis and other memebes of

Management  Board are Aleksands Mihejevs, Franks Ziberts, Anda Ulpe and

Janis Kalvans - for 3 year period and Gints Freibergs for 1 year.
