On  13  March,  the  pension  fund  Unipensija  was incorporated in the

Republic  of  Latvia Register of Enterprises. The founders are Latvijas

Unibanka,  Māras  Banka  and the insurance company Rīgas Fenikss - life

insurance,  with  81,  9  and  10  per cent of shares respectively. The

start-up capital of the fund is 400,000 lats.

At the foundation meeting Aivars Bērtulis, chairman of the Board of A/S

Rīgas  Fenikss  - life insurance, Andris Bērziņš, president of Latvijas

Unibanka, Juris Biķis, president of Latvijas Finieris, Nikolajs Sigurds

Bulmanis,  chairman  of  the Board of Māras Banka and Harald Fleetwood,

vice-president  of SEB Baltic Holding AB were elected as the members of

the  Supervisory  Council.  The  founders  elected Viesturs Neimanis as

chairman  of  the  Board, and Rikard Josefson and Indra Omule Sāmīte as

deputy  chair  persons of the Board. Mr. Juris Lapše, senior manager of

PricewaterhouseCoopers  was  elected as swarn-in auditor of the pension

fund.

It  is expected that in the first operating year of Unipensija 15 to 20

Latvian companies may become its members.
