JSC  "Jekabpils cukurfabrika" informs that net turnover in the 1998 was

more than LVL 6,7 million. Instead of planned profit will be loses more

than LVL 400 000.

In  the  1998  modernisation  of  factory  was  made,  but unsuccessful

processing season of sugarbeets did not allow to reach planned results.

Due  to  Russian financial crises sales amounts have decreased and as a

result  food  processing  companies  have  decreased  their  production

amounts and used less of sugar produced in Latvia.
