JSC “Baloži” comments on LETA news item about fire



During the night of January 25, between 01:00 and 02:00 peat fire broke out due to self-ignition 

in an area of 3-5 sq.m. The security guards called the fire brigade prior to notifying the 

company management. Such self-igniting fires are typical for peat storages, and, as a rule, are 

extinguished by company employees, without any assistance from fire brigades. The losses are 

negligent, and the company is continuing the operations as usual.
