Mogas Volumes Handled by Ventspils Nafta Termināls Increased
The volumes of motor gasoline handled by Ventspils Nafta Termināls
– the daughter company of the joint stock company Ventspils Nafta
were at an all-time high in January 2005. The handled volume of
gasoline grades 76, 80 and 92 reached 0.41 million tonnes
this January and is considered the biggest when compared
with previous years.
For example, the biggest volume of motor gasoline handled by
Ventspils Nafta Termināls in 2004 was in May and made up
of 0.32 million tonnes. In 2003 it was in February and
the handled volume of the above product reached
0.26 million tonnes.
Over the last years the volumes of motor gasoline handled
by Ventspils Nafta Termināls despite their monthly
fluctuations managed to increase steadily and hit
record high in this January. Ventspils Nafta Termināls
is extremely advantageous to anyone involved in the
transportation of motor gasoline considering the developed
infrastructure of the terminal that enables to
unload rail-tank-cars and store petroleum products;
as well as the port of Ventspils has the possibilities
of handling large tanker-ships and allowing the cargo
owners to decrease noticeably their freight expenses.
Totally Ventspils Nafta Termināls handled 0.7 million tonnes
of petroleum products in January 2005; it is worth mentioning
that the above volume complies with any forecasts previously
made by the company. Apart from motor gasoline the terminal
handled 0.3 million tonnes of gas oil. By reason of a high
tariff imposed by Russia on crude oil export that in January
was still in the amount of 101 USD per tonne, the total
volume of crude oil deliveries exported from Russia by
railway has decreased noticeably, and considering this,
the receipt of crude oil deliveries was not planned by
Ventspils Nafta Termināls in January.
