JSC LATVIJAS KUĢNIECĪBA WITHDRAWS ITS APPEAL AND REQUESTS 

TERMINATION OF COURT PROCEEDINGS



On 8 March 2005 Joint Stock Company Latvijas kuģniecība (LASCO) 

filed the withdrawal of its appeal dated 21 February 2005 with 

the Chamber of Civil Matters of the Supreme Court of the Republic 

of Latvia and, based on Civil Procedure Law, requested the 

termination of the related proceedings. The above-mentioned appeal 

was lodged by LASCO in relation to the decision passed by Riga 

Regional Court of Civil Matters on 10 February 2005. 



On 10 February 2005 a decision was passed by Riga Regional Court 

as a means of claim security to prohibit SIA Ojay Limited, 

Eastgate Properties Limited, Guernsey and AS Hansabanka to 

participate in JSC Latvijas kuģniecība Extraordinary General 

Meeting of Shareholders on 11 February 2005. An appeal related 

to the said decision was filed by JSC Latvijas kuģniecība with 

the Chamber of Civil Matters of the Supreme Court of the 

Republic of Latvia on 21 February 2005, and is now being withdrawn 

with a request to terminate respective court proceedings.
