Performance results for the three quarters of 2004
From January through September 2004 the group of Apranga companies earned a
pre-tax profit of LTL 3'703 thousand, or by 6.1% more than during the
corresponding period of 2003. It exceeds by 30% the planned amount provided in
the budget for 2004.
The results of the Apranga network in addition to those of Apranga JTC, include
also the results of the subsidiaries Apranga Estonia OÜ and Apranga LV SIA,
which starting from the middle of August operate ZARA stores in Tallinn and
Riga.
The sales turnover of the Apranga network amounted to LTL 88'849.7 thousand in
the nine months of 2004 generating an increase of 38.3% as compared with the
corresponding period of 2003.
On November 12, 2004 Apranga is going to open the largest and the most modern
2300 m2 store in ZARA store chain in Vilnius, thus finishing the first stage in
the development of ZARA network in all the three capitals of the Baltic States.
This year Apranga has already opened 11 new stores: 3 in Vilnius, 3 in Klaipeda,
4 in Riga and 1 in Tallinn, and by the end of the year it will manage a network
of 40 stores throughout the Baltic countries.
During the first 20 months of its operation on foreign markets, Apranga has
already opened 10 stores, including 9 in Riga and 1 in Tallinn. The total
trading floor area meeting the highest technological requirements makes up over
7000 m2. The share of the sales turnover on foreign markets in August
accounted for 38% of the total turnover of the Apranga network.
Investments of Apranga in the expansion of the trading network are going to
amount to about LTL 24 million in 2004.
Apranga forecasts to beat the targets on goods turnover and profit set for 2004.
