EKR: Decisions of the Board EKRANAS AB August 17, 2005

The Board discussed the situation on the global market of electronics industry faced by
all the market participants. According to the biggest Turkish TV producers’ statistics,
in January – July 2005 color TV production decreased by 17%, compared to January – July, 2004.
According to the ECID statistics (January – July, 2005), the production of new technology
products (LCD, plasma and RPTV) decreased from 151685 pcs to 133002 pcs (by 12,5%),
whereas consumption of the TVs with color picture tubes dropped from 1032052 pcs to
997491 pcs (only by 3.35%).

The Board stated that the production and sales decrease is not only in color television, but
also of other consumer products, including car industries.

Having assessed the situation on the global market and financial results of the first six months
of year 2005 in comparison to those of other European and also Asian color picture tube and
new technology manufacturers, the Board stated that EKRANAS AB position is sufficiently
satisfactory.

Antidumping statement to the European Commission regarding initiating proceedings against
7 states is on final stage for submission to European DG Trade Commission.

The Board has made the following resolutions:

1.To convene the following meeting in September after the exhibition in Berlin and
revise the forecasts for year 2005.

2.To convene the extraordinary general meeting of stockholders in November, 2005,
and deliberate the issue regarding the authorized capital increase by 14.2 mill. LTL
( 4.1 mill. EUR).

3.To authorize the Chairman of the Board Mr.E.Žvybas to hold negotiations and
conclude the contract on purchasing of technical documents from EGlass for the
production of LCD glass in EKRANAS AB.

4.To agree with new trends of business development in the company and continue the
activities started.

5.To confirm the production of the new generation “Slim type” CPTs in EKRANAS AB.

6.The Board of EKRANAS AB noted with satisfaction the start of pilot-run of the new
generation 21” “Slim type” CPT in EKRANAS AB - the future of color picture tubes
in the world CPT industries.
