TALLINNA VESI RECEIVED EMAS CERTIFICATION



On Friday, 14th October, Ministry of  Environment  handed  AS  Tallinna  Vesi  the

Environmental Management and  Auditing  System  (EMAS)  registration  certificate.

Tallinna Vesi is the first Estonian company to receive such kind of certificate.



EMAS is the means of environmental  management,  the  objective  of  which  is  to

motivate organisations to improve the efficiency of their environmental  activity.

EMAS implementation is voluntary. In addition to meeting the requirements  of  the

standard, the organisation has to compile  an  Environmental  Report  and  get  it

approved, registered and published.
