Petroleum products transhipment of SIA ‘’Ventspils nafta’ termināls’ in November almost 0.5 million tonnes



In November 2005, the daughter company of a/s Ventspils nafta – SIA ‘’Ventspils nafta’ 

termināls’’ transhipped almost 0.5 million tonnes of petroleum products that were 

delivered to the terminal by railway. This is by 44 thousand tonnes more than last 

November of 2004.



In November 2005, the total volume of transhipment was made up of various grades 

of motor gasoline, as well as of gas oil with different sulpher content, which were 

transhipped in the amount of nearly 0.3 million tonnes and 0.2 million tonnes 

respectively.



In November 2005, when compared with October, the export of petroleum products 

from CIS countries decreased. The total gas oil export, as well as gasoline export 

from CIS decreased by 0.6 million tonnes and 0.3 million tonnes respectively. This 

situation was affected by unfavourable market conditions and resulted in the fact 

that owners considered the storage of their petroleum products more beneficial than 

transporting and selling them on any markets.



In total, for the eleven months of 2005, SIA ‘’Ventspils nafta’ termināls’’ 

transhipped 7.5 million tonnes of crude oil and petroleum products which were 

made up of  3.7 million tonnes of gas oil and 3.6 million tonnes of gasoline.
