140 people joined funded pension or the second pillar of the Estonian pension system within first two days.

Funded pension choice applications can be submitted as of May 4. Persons who wish to start collecting funded pension as of July 1, 2002, have to submit a choice application before June 1, 2002. Persons who wish to start making contributions to funded pension as of January 1, 2003, have time to join until October 31, 2002.

The choice applications may be submitted through Internet homepage www.pensionikeskus.ee (section “My Account”), at account operators’ offices or via Internet banks.

The choice application form has to include the applicant’s personal and contact details and the name of pension fund where to commence making contributions. Terms and conditions of 15 funded pension funds registered by the Financial Supervisory Authority can be obtained at www.pensionikeskus.ee.

Estonian CSD, part of HEX Tallinn, maintains Estonian central securities registry and pension registry.
