SME Instrument Supported by the EU to Be Launched With the Nasdaq Riga Opening Bell

On Thursday, March 5, the SME instrument supported with funding and expertise by the EU will be launched with a bell-ringing ceremony in Nasdaq Riga. The ceremony will be opened by Ralfs Nemiro, Minister of Economics of the Republic of Latvia.

Other speakers at the event will be Daiga Auziņa-Melalksne, the CEO of Nasdaq Riga, Līga Kļaviņa, Deputy State Secretary for Financial Policy, Ministry of Finance, and Mārtiņš Brencis, Director of the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA). The ceremony will be attended by Latvian economic and finance experts, business representatives and social partners.

The instrument for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to raise financing in the capital markets is among the first completed projects in the area of the EU capital markets union. The CFCA will announce the open selection of projects on March 5, and afterwards the selections will be organized every three months.
