Flagship of Estonian Accounting Award 2001

On June 19, the Estonian Accounting Standards Board awarded Hansapank with the title The Flagship of Estonian Accounting Award 2001, with which it was accredited as the issuer with the exemplar accounting standards in Estonia this year.

In its second year of nomination the award’s aim is to promote companies whose financial statements are adequately in accordance with the Estonian laws, good accounting standards, and are transparent. It is also important that the leader would act as a benchmark for other companies. The winner is chosen amongst all the companies listed on the Tallinn Stock Exchange’s main and secondary list as of December 31 of the preceding year.

To guarantee the involvement of professionals and the fairness the standard procedures have been changed. The winner was chosen by a 15-membered committee. It included representatives from the Tallinn Stock Exchange, officials from banking, investment, insurance and auditing sector, listed companies plus members of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Flagship of Estonian Accounting Award 2001 was handed over on the Stock Exchange’s investor relations seminar. The Flagship of Estonian Accounting Award 2000 was granted to Saku Õlletehas.
