10.03.2004 RIG

Riga Stock Exchange Management Board resolved to list four open-end investment funds on the RSE Investment Fund list from March 15, 2004: “Parex Baltijas Jūras Sabalansētais fonds”, “Parex Latu Obligāciju fonds”, “Parex Austrumeiropas Sabalansētais fonds” un “Parex Austrumeiropas Obligāciju fonds”. “Parekss ieguldījumu sabiedrība” is the asset management company, and “Parekss banka” is the custodian bank. Pursuant to the principles of open-end investment funds, the funds themselves will sell and buy back the units.

Daiga Auziņa-Melalksne, Director of Development and Services Department, Riga Stock Exchange: “Listing of investment fund units on the RSE allow the funds to attract institutional investors that are permitted to invest only in listed securities. The listing will also increase the investors’ confidence, since the unit buy and sell prices, the fund’s financial and other information is accessible to a wide audience.”

“Parex Baltijas Jūras Sabalansētais fonds” units are issued in lats. The Fund’s investment policy provides for investing in the Baltic Sea area – in debt securities issued or guaranteed by governments, Central Banks, financial institutions and corporations; in company shares; as well as in bank short-term deposits.
“Parex Latu Obligāciju fonds” units are issued in lats. The assets are invested in lat-denominated securities issued in the Baltic countries and OECD member countries by the governments, Central Banks, credit institutions and corporations; as well as in credit institution lat deposits.
“Parex Austrumeiropas Sabalansētais fonds” units are issued in EUR – this is the first EUR-denominated fund listed on the RSE. The fund invests in debt securities and equities issued or guaranteed by central or local governments, Central Banks and credit institutions in East European countries; and in debt securities and equities issued by corporations.
“Parex Austrumeiropas Obligāciju fonds” units are issued in USD. The fund invests in debt securities issued or guaranteed by central or local governments, Central Banks and credit institutions in East European countries; and in debt securities issued by corporations.
