Lõhmus, Haavel&Viisemann Becomes Active Account Operator

On June 25, 2001, Supervisory Board of Estonian CSD (ECSD) decided to accredit Lõhmus, Haavel & Viisemann (LHV) with account operator status. LHV started operating as an account operator on June 29, 2001.

LHV is the first non-credit institution to become an account operator. “It is an important event for the development of Estonian securities market. It should further investors’ possibilities as well as enhance competition on Estonian securities market,” said Jaanus Erlemann, Supervisory Board chairman of ECSD.

ECSD has seven active account operators (Hansapank, Eesti Ühispank, Eesti Krediidipank, LHV, Sampo Pank, Preatoni Pank ja Tallinna Äripank) and one non-active account operator (Nordea Pank).
