On October 20 – 21 2000 Tallinn Stock Exchange, together with Reuters and Estonia’s main business daily Äripäev, will organize the first major capital and money markets fair, "Money Compass 2000", in Estonia to be held in Tallinn. The main aim of the fair is to promote savings and investment culture in Estonia among current and potential investors.

The fair will gather all major participants in the Estonian financial market (banks, brokerages, insurance companies), also the stock exchange issuers and media / information vendors. Participants include Hansapank, Eesti Ühispank, Merita Pank, Delfi/LHV Direct, Suprema Securities, Trigon, Optiva Pank, Sampo Insurance, Eesti Krediidipank, Brunswick Direct, Central Bank of Estonia, Tallinn Stock Exchange, Estonian CSD, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Bridge Telerate, Reuters, Äripäev, NOREX.

The event would take place as a fair, accompanied with seminars, workshops and lectures given by CEO-s, well-known experts and specialists in the field. The range of seminars covers topics directed to the retail investors, as well as to analysts/specialists with higher knowledge in more specific areas. Listed companies will be promoted with the organization of "CEO hour" of listed and to-be-listed companies as well as a setup of a special library.

In the framework of Money Compass 2000 investment fair, Tallinn Stock Exchange will not charge on October 20th and 23rd the EEK 35 transaction fee from the stock exchange member firms for transactions made by Estonian resident private persons; the Exchange also invites its member firms to make special offers to their clients. Also the Estonian CSD will not charge between October 16 – 27 its account operators the EEK 75 fee for opening of securities accounts to Estonian resident private persons.
