Riga Stock Exchange Annual Award winners to be announced

On Wednesday, December 8, the Riga Stock Exchange will announce the winners of the annual awards: Broker of the Year, Contact Person of the Year and Stock Exchange Special Award . Traditionally, the awards go the best and pro-active market participants.

The main criteria for awarding with Broker of the Year prize is the number of deals, evaluation by the clients and other brokers, as well as research done on the capital market. The nominees are:
– Natālija Točelovska, “Parex banka”
– Aigars Rubiķis, “Latvijas Unibanka”
– Ivars Bergmanis, “Suprema”

The nominees in the Contact Person of the Year 2004 category:
– Marita Ozoliņa-Tumanovska, “Latvijas kuģniecība”
– Gundega Vārpa, “Ventspils Nafta” (Contact Person of the Year 2003)
– Viktorija Žuka-Ņikuļina “Olainfarm”
The criteria for awarding with Contact Person of the Year is the amount and quality of the information disclosed to the market, as well as the issuer’s transparency to the investors and improvements during past year.

Special Award is for outstanding contribution to the Latvian capital market development.

Last year the prize-winners were: Andrejs Martinovs (Broker of the year 2003), Gundega Vārpa “Ventspils nafta” (Contact Person of the year 2003) and Ieva Mārtiņa from BNS (Special Award 2003).
The prize is a statuette of a self-assured man and is a symbol of pursuit of achievement. The author is artist Uldis Zariņš.
